


PROJECT BRIEF
A 14-week project to design performance wearables for the extreme athletes competing in Ironman Hawaii. Provide the athlete with a competitive advantage through the creation of innovative apparel, footwear, helmets, goggles, and other performance wearables. Key product and brand insights will reflect a 3-year timeframe.

The Ironman World Championship is a triathlon that brings athletes from all over the world to test their minds, body, and spirit on the main stage in Kailua-Kona. Ironman is not just a triathlon; it’s a platform for people to overcome mental and physical barriers, prove to themselves, and inspire others that anything is possible.

Women For Tri is a group of inspirational women who come together to empower others who participate in Ironman races. Their mission is to break boundaries and mobilize triathlon advocates to encourage and engage females athletes around the world with various athletic abilities. During my research, I found a campaign that really resonated with me. #WHYWETRI


#WHYWETRI
WHYWETRI is a campaign created by the Women for Tri group. Their goal is to show other women how a triathlon could change their lives. The majority of these athletes who participate in Ironman have something or someone they're doing it for.

MY BRIEF
I want to design a women's cycling shoe that improves performance through biomechanics and fitment. The cycling portion can affect the final part of the foot race if the user is in discomfort from the cycling portion.

INSPIRATION
The inspiration for the Giro Swift Form is speed, the ripple effects, and the contrails the jet leaves in the air after Lynn makes fast maneuvers.





SWIFT FORM
The Giro Swift Form is designed to adapt and conform to the different heights and lengths of arches that women have. With an adaptive insole, it could adjust comfort during the race because your foot will swell due to weather and other factors.


The Giro Swift Form's insole is made of a programmable foam that will adapt to different situations. As a result, it will help create efficient power and more rounded cycling stroke.
